🔒 Privacy Policy

We keep this simple because we believe privacy policies should actually be readable. Here's what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

What we collect

• Email address — when you join the waitlist or sign up for a plan.
• Competitor URLs you submit — so we know what to monitor for you. This is core to the product.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, report opens. Standard anonymized analytics to help us improve the product.
• Billing information — handled entirely by our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy). We never see or store your card details.

What we do with it

• Send you the intelligence reports and alerts you signed up for.
• Notify you about account-related things (billing, service updates).
• Improve the product — understanding what's useful and what isn't.

Cookies

We don't use tracking cookies. If we add any in the future (e.g., for session authentication), we'll update this policy and tell you.

Third parties

We use a small number of trusted services to run the product:

• Resend — for transactional email delivery.
• Lemon Squeezy — for payment processing and subscription management.
• Vercel — for hosting.

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for them to do their job.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as you're a customer, plus a reasonable period afterward in case you want to come back. If you want everything deleted, just email us and we'll take care of it within 30 days.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or update it at any time. Just reach out.

📄 Terms of Service

By using RivalDigest, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain English so you actually know what you're agreeing to.

The service

RivalDigest monitors competitor websites and delivers periodic intelligence briefs via email (and Slack, on higher tiers). We use AI to analyze changes and produce reports. Our goal is to help you stay informed — but AI isn't perfect, and competitive intelligence requires human judgment too.

Subscriptions and billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly (or annually if you choose the annual plan).
• Billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy. You can manage your subscription from your dashboard.
• Prices may change in the future. We'll give you at least 30 days notice before any price increases.

Cancellation

Refund policy

We don't offer refunds on partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month, you'll continue receiving reports until the period ends — we're not going to cut you off early. We do handle genuine billing errors on a case-by-case basis. If something went wrong on our end, reach out and we'll make it right.

Acceptable use

You agree to use RivalDigest only for lawful purposes. Specifically, you won't:

• Use the service to monitor individuals rather than public business information.
• Attempt to scrape or extract our underlying data in bulk via automated means.
• Resell or redistribute the reports without our permission (white-label options are available — just ask).
• Use the service in ways that violate any applicable laws or regulations.

Disclaimer of warranties

RivalDigest is provided "as is." We do our best to deliver accurate, timely competitive intelligence — but we can't guarantee that our monitoring will catch every change, or that our AI analysis will always be correct. The reports are a tool to inform your decisions, not a substitute for your own judgment.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

We won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability won't exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
