Privacy & Terms

We keep this simple because we believe privacy policies should actually be readable. Here's what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

What we collect

• Email address — when you sign up for a plan or trial.
• Name and company — collected at checkout for your account.
• Competitor URLs you submit — so we know what to monitor. This is core to the product.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, report opens. Standard anonymized analytics to help us improve.
• Billing information — handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor). We never see or store your card details.

What we do with it

• Send you the intelligence reports and alerts you signed up for.
• Notify you about account-related matters (billing, service updates).
• Improve the product — understanding what's useful and what isn't.

Cookies

We don't use tracking cookies. If we add any in the future (e.g. for session authentication), we'll update this policy and tell you.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted services to run the product:

• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing, subscription management, and Merchant of Record (handles all taxes and compliance).
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Cloudflare Pages — hosting.

Each service has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for them to do their job.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as you're a customer, plus a reasonable period afterward in case you want to come back. If you want everything deleted, email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or update it at any time. Just reach out.

By using RivalDigest, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain English so you actually know what you're agreeing to.

The service

RivalDigest monitors competitor websites and delivers periodic intelligence briefs via email (and Slack on higher tiers). We use AI to analyze changes and produce reports. Our goal is to help you stay informed — but AI isn't perfect, and competitive intelligence requires human judgment too.

Free trial & billing

• Trials are 7 days. Your first report is delivered within 48 hours of completing setup; your second arrives on Day 7. We require a valid payment method to start your trial. Your card is not charged until Day 8.
• On Day 8, your chosen plan activates and your card is charged at the monthly rate.
• You can cancel any time before Day 8 at no charge. After Day 8, subscriptions are billed monthly.
• Prices may change. We'll give you at least 30 days notice before any price increase.

Refund policy

We don't offer refunds on partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month, you'll keep receiving reports until the period ends. Genuine billing errors are handled case-by-case — reach out and we'll make it right.

Acceptable use

You agree to use RivalDigest only for lawful purposes. Specifically, you won't:

• Use the service to monitor individuals rather than public business information.
• Scrape or extract our underlying data in bulk via automated means.
• Resell or redistribute reports without our permission (white-label options are available — just ask).
• Use the service in ways that violate any applicable laws or regulations.

Disclaimer of warranties

RivalDigest is provided "as is." We do our best to deliver accurate, timely competitive intelligence — but we can't guarantee our monitoring catches every change, or that AI analysis is always correct. Reports inform your decisions; they're not a substitute for your own judgment.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

We won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability won't exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
